Secure yourself from Mobile Attacks


Most people think that they will be under risk of attack while using laptops and desktops but not while using a mobile device. We need to change this thinking. You are susceptible to attacks on mobile device too. Stay alert and be safe. Here are some ways


  • Wifi


1. Don't allow your device to auto-join unfamiliar networks
2. Turn off WiFi when not in use
3. Unless you're absolutely sure that the network is sure... never ever send sensitive information (like credit card information and other personally identifiable information) over WiFi.


  • Applications


1. Only use apps available in your device's official store. Google play store for android or App store for Apple. Never download from a browser.
2. Don't install apps from unknown developers or with bad reviews.
3. Update your applications regularly.
4. Delete those applications that are no longer supported by you store.
5. Don't allow administrator or excessive privileges to apps unless you trust them.
6. Don't install apps that ask for more privilege than you think it requires.


  • Browser


1. Beware of phising. Don't click if it's too good to be true.
2. Check URLs.
3. Don't save your credentials when using a web browser.


  • Bluetooth

1. Disable automatick pairing.
2. Turn off when you don't need it.


  • Smishing

Smishing is a phishing attack via SMS.
1. Don't trust messages that asks for your personal information. It applies for apps like Facebbok Messenger, Instagram, What's App
2. Think before you click.


  • Vishing

Vishing is another form of phishing attack via voice. In this you'll get a call asking you for your personal information.
1. Don't respond to such telephone asking for personal information. Raise your concern and call your financial information directly.
2. Speak only with live people when providing account or credit card information. Or provide information only if you've initiated the call.
